Need for crafting

Here you go, there are many photos here and they are not in date order but a little explanation behind each one is there for you to read.

This first photo is of my first ever jewellery making session at home after watching Youtube.  One day a few weeks ago a lady that I follow on Instagram put up a photo of a lot of jewellery making equipment and supplies saying 'For free to a good home'.  So I was very lucky to be the first one to respond and although I do not need another hobby I had visions of making some heirloom projects for my family.  A few weeks later they all arrived and today, due to a broken gas boiler and a gas leak, I decided to use up the time waiting around to have a go at a project.

I wanted to make a necklace and bracelet for my Grand Daughter and to be honest, after watching a few episodes on Youtube, it was easier than I thought.

I just hope she is going to like what I made and am now thinking about what I can make for my Grandson who I know would love a necklace or bracelet.

The next photo below is a pair of completed socks for my Sister in law Michelle, she loved the pair I made her for Christmas and asked for another pair and they took about 3 evenings to do.

I did knit another 2 pairs before the pair above but I had to send them in the post to Frank's cousin in Gloucestershire and will try and add another photo a bit later.

The pillow cases below I sewed up the weekend.  Frank had gone to a Fabric Shop in Essex Road, Islington called Ray Stitch and bought the aeroplane and vehicle fabric because it was on sale.
We then went back last weekend and I purchased the backing and finally got round to finish them in time for this weekend when the grand babies are staying over.

This next photo is of 22 pairs of socks that belong to Frank, he actually has around 27 pairs but I could not fit them all in the drawer.  I wanted to have a look at them and see if they were wearing ok and apart from a few that are pilling, there are no holes so that is good.

The next photo is of a project that I have on the go and do a bit now and then when I feel like it.
It is a design I am having a go at using one ball of yarn that has fabulous stripes and am incorporating some lace here and there.  I am in no rush to finish it at the moment.

This last photo is of one of the pairs of socks that got sent to Gloucestershire and they are a gorgeous Drops Fabel yarn. I made the legs slightly longer than normal and I got a call from the cousins to say they are fitting great and are warm and cosy.

So I am going to leave it at that for now, I have started on a crochet project finally using some Sublime Fine Lace Yarn which I am holding double and will be glad to use it up because it has been sitting in my stash for quite a long time.

I will leave that photo for next time.  Thank you for dropping in and will be back soon. x
